Javeed Shaik
Founder and author of Healthy Calculator Hub. I build and maintain every calculator and guide on this site, and I am the person responsible for whether the numbers on it are right.
Who I actually am
I am a web developer based in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, India. I built Healthy Calculator Hub on my own and I still run every part of it — the calculators, the guides, the research behind them, and the corrections when I get something wrong. There is no team; when this site says "we", it means me.
I am not a doctor, dietitian, or any kind of clinician, and I have no medical training. That matters enough to say before anything else, and it shapes what this site does and does not attempt. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or tell you what to eat. What it does is arithmetic, out in the open, with the research attached.
Why the site exists
I kept running into health calculators that hand you a number and expect you to trust it. No formula, no source, no way to check whether the figure meant anything. For a topic where people make real decisions, that seemed backwards.
So every page here shows the formula it used and links the research behind it. There are more than 280 citations across the site, to the CDC, WHO, NIH, NHS, the National Academies, FAO and the original papers. If a number appears on this site, you can trace where it came from.
What I do when the evidence is unclear
I say so. Body fat percentage categories, for example, have no agreed international standard — the tidy tables you see everywhere are conventions inherited from fitness-industry practice, not consensus science. The guides say that, rather than presenting a neat table as settled fact. The same goes for the widely repeated rate-of-gain tables for muscle: they trace to coaching models rather than controlled trials, so this site does not reproduce them.
Being honest about the limits of a number is more useful than sounding confident about it. That principle costs traffic and I have kept it anyway.
Corrections
I have published corrections when I have found errors, and I would rather hear about a mistake than keep it. If something on this site looks wrong, please tell me — I read every message and I will fix genuine errors and say what changed. How research, checking and corrections work in practice is set out on the editorial process page.
What I maintain
33 calculators and 37 guides, all free, with no sign-up and no paywall. The site is ad-supported. It has no medical reviewer — when that changes, it will say so on this page with a real name and a real credential, and not before.
